"We need money for roads and schools"
2010-05-02 | Mike Acker

how many times have you seen the old plea: "We need money for roads and schools"

and the money goes to entitlements and they come back to us again for money for roads and schools

it is time for all of us to recognize this old plea for what is is: an announcement: we have got the budget out of control again.

Roger Simon published a wonderful essay last week over at Pajamas pondering our disposition when the cost of entitlements exceeds our ability to pay. we borrow, of course, to balance the budget, but all that accrues from that is added interest charges

You might look up Alan Greenspan's article on "Gold and Economic Freedom"

When the Weimar Republic collapsed after "hyperinflation" old marks were exchanged for new at the rate of 1,000,000,000,000 to 1. Savings were, for all intents and purposes, wiped out (stolen).

Government entitlement programs are one of the biggest -- if not the main cause of deficit spending -- and the resulting inflation.

Entitlements can destroy an economy

We will need to find a workable method to install a requirement for fiscal responsibility into our constitutions.

This won't be easy

But the starting point lies in limiting the kinds of things that can be in the government budget. And continues with auditing borrowing such that any borrowing that is allowed is retired in a respectable manner.

some of these terms will be up for discussion; but that is a process we must take up.

Actually we have money for roads and schools before we send it to the federal government.

Not only do we need to get the amount of spending under control, but stop the waste as well. We build roads to nowhere..trust me I have seen these first hand..and pay school administrators six figure salaries for doing nothing.

I wonder where we can get decals like the one in the lower right. I would gladly stick it on everyone of these Obamunist takeover signs I see.

Kinda funny considering the fact that the sign was photographed here in Michigan where we’re letting roads return to dirt and spending highway funds to build a railroad no one intends to use.

Karl Levin provided a fine example of the problem when he was trying to get highway funds to preserve Tiger stadium.

The government in Colorado takes money for their favorite cause and puts the people last. They run out of money and blackmail parents into Cookie sales and tax raises to get the kids educated.

If they closed every government K-12 school in the nation, the **SAME** kids who are getting an education today, would get an excellent education tomorrow. Why?

Answer: Because **parents** and the kids themselves are doing the real work of education IN THE HOME!!! (Afterschooling)

Afterschooling is what teaches our kids! The only thing the government school does is send home a curriculum and waste most of the child's day! Little to NO education happens in any government school! But...There is plenty of time to teach the kids to Marxists and atheists.

Entitlements can destroy an economy
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Government K-12 schooling is an entitlement. It is the biggest item on any state or county budget.

Solution: Begin the process of complete separation of school and state.

They put these signs up on Rt 78 near the NJ/PA borders.

A major construction project has been going on for about 4 years (and is almost complete). They just put these signs up about two months ago.

They are a complete LIE!

That's funny. And ironic. It seems like it is difficult to get there though.

I noticed that in my travels too. Projects that have been going on for years, now have those signs. Waste! Waste! Waste!

And building in for cost over-runs. Just great!

As if all we commuters are stupid and aren’t going to notice that.

I guess they figure if they lie often enough we’ll begin to believe it.

I wonder where we can get decals like the one in the lower right.

The one (with the toilet, etc.) at the lower left is even more interesting.

You know who the author was, right?
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
