Golf was around way before Tiger & will be around after Tiger. He may have helped increase the purses but he also brings some negatives.

I’ll start with this....Tiger’s performance after the Monday presser left much to be desired. His on-course demeanor stinks, plain and simple. Contrast that to Phil, who had the media tent in stitches from the time the first question was asked till he finished. And the tearful 18th green green jacket presentation was genuine for sure.

As far as Amy’s well being, all indications are that she will recover from this completely. I imagine this maybe a time consuming process though. Not being a doctor I’ll assume that a year is not enough time to be rid of everything and that processes still need to take place. Remember, the diagonsis was made in June. Maybe August was when her treatmemts started in Houston. So hopefully this is still a process and the long-term still is very good....

Phil never blinked yesterday. A bogeyfree final round is testament to that. The shot on 13 will be remembered generations from now. Lee, AK and KJ’s times will come, soon.
And Fred and Tom gave us much to rejoice about too!!!

Yep.,...everyone behaved as they should except Tiger. As I said before: “Tiger aside.” He can leave now and never come back. He wouldn’t be missed in my opinion. I think there are a lot of good men in that tour that are honorable and talented. As for the 16 year old...good for him. Hope to hear a lot about him in the future. Lots of fresh, young blood coming up the ranks. Mickelson is a real example of how to behave in ones personal life as well as their professional life.

My favorite movie of all time is "Chariots of Fire" because it asked the question "Why do we run?"

I think the same question when posed to these players explains a lot about their attitude toward the sport of golf and the way they conduct themselves. Why do they play? Many years ago pro golfers played to feed their families and carve out a living. Big purses and major endorsements have made many of these players millionaires many times over. While many of the very well healed continue to play because of a love for the game, I don't think the same can be said for Tiger Woods. He is chasing history and his window of opportunity decreases every year. Every time he fails in his quest to draw one major closer to the top will result in more anger and vitriol. Sad that he cannot enjoy or appreciate what he has accomplished. He is pushing for a prize that he may never reach and will have missed the joy of the journey.

Good point with the movie correlation..Like I posted on other threads this weekend and this one, Tiger is losing a lot of support from those of us who were only concerned about him between the ropes. Now with all the crap that’s in the open everything he does now will be examined microscopically. He has no margin for error, so blowups like on Saturday will hurt him...

As for others who get it, like Phil, Lee, Fred, KJ, Ian, Ernie, Zach get the point, it’s easy to give support to their success....
