I heard this at least six years ago from none other than Dr. Tom Coburn at a Town Hall meeting in Broken Arrow, OK. He said then something to the effect that consumption of high fructose corn syrup is highly associated with diabetes.

That's when we stopped consuming any of it. No drinks, candies, jams, etc of any kind that contain it.

Cuba used to import automobiles from America. When Castro seized power, all imports were cut off. Many of the Cubans who own these old cars have resorted to making their own parts to keep these old cars running - no new autos for the proles.

Not sure where you got the Viet Vet comment. I'm too young for that. I was in the Air Force for a little under 7 years - got out in '94. While in, I put in two years at Osan AB in the Republic of Korea.

Me again....let me just add this to the discussion.....It is important people take a daily vitamin/mineral. The body sends signals it desires what is lacking....we often read it simply as being hungry...so we eat, sometimes the wrong thing..and though we feel full that vitamin the body wants may not have been satisfied. Too often we read a vitamin need as an eat need.

For me when I don’t take the vitamin I want to eat every thing sweet....cookies, pie, cakes...yum....when I take the vitamin I don’t crave the sweets.
