I ask you if you died tonight and after you met our maker you met these three men and they asked you: "What did you do with the Republic we give you?"
What would be your answer?
“The Republic is now a place where a scumbag like Kevin Federline, Lady Gaga and Octomom are considered people that the citizens have an interest in or look up to. It’s a disgrace!”
I would say, “I protested with Free Republic outside of Gore’s mansion in 2001. I went to Alabama to protest the removal of Judge Roy Moore’s Ten Commandments and then went to the Supreme Court with other protesters to do the same. I flew to Florida while they were killing Terri Schiavo, and I just returned from the D.C. rally against the heinous health care bill.”
God help us and bless America.
I worked in the private sector as part of a team that saw goods move from the receiving dock to the cash register to drive our economy.
I raised two wonderful children, one that is serving our country another that is planning to go to law school to study our constitution so weekends like this one will be few and far between.
I loved and supported a husband who operated a small business in spite of taxation, regulation and that ever present question...So you want a city contract, do you have any minorities working for you?
1. Served in the Army, 1977-1985, honorable discharge. No action, but at least I volunteered and tried to do what was asked of me. Frankly, I’ve never been much of an athlete and a good athlete is one thing you must be in the Army. But I did manage to do a lot of things physically that I never thought I could do. Still, it was a profound relief to relapse into my sedentary ways after I got my discharge.
2. Worked 25 years as a newspaper reporter and editor. Never made the big time, but at least I was able to eke out a living as “token conservative” in several newsrooms. Currently forced into early retirement, but working hard to change that real soon. If my lib colleagues thought I was a hard-right extremist back then, just wait until I get back into the game. This time, no prisoners.
3. Only voted for a RAT once, and that at an age when I had the excuse of being a callow youth.
4. Worked every day to stay informed, whether reading the news or reading books about our War of Independence. Franklin is easily my favorite of the Founding Fathers.
5. Struggled with my faith. Didn’t win much but kept struggling.
Not near enough....but, I haven’t given up yet!
I searched in vain for proof of Barry O’s existence. I could not even find his birth certificate.
Major Fail. But I did try.
I would tell them that I did 12 years in the U.S. Navy, educated myself on history, economics and politics, particularly our political system and the creation of it. I would also stress my continued involvement in the system. However, I would also enlighten them to the fact that we home-schooled our kids, and alienated our friends and family by reminding them about their straying from our founders ideals. Then I would tell them about my chosen profession as a gunsmith, which was motivated by my desire to ensure that Americans would always possess the liberty teeth required to remain free.
Any other questions?
Thank you for all you’ve done. Are you still struggling with your faith? That is the one rock in my life that I am absolutely confident in.
