Pelosi: Democrats 'In Pretty Good Shape' On Health Bill

Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday continued to project optimism that [she] could find enough votes to pass health-care legislation, as Republicans hammered them for the process they plan to use to pass the legislation.

...

A cost estimate of the legislation has yet to be released by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which is likely to push a vote on the legislation into the weekend. Asked about the delay in unveiling the cost estimate and the legislation itself, Pelosi said that "the numbers have to add up" before any text is released.

...

House Democrats' plans to deem the Senate bill passed once changes to it are passed in the House have drawn accusations from Republicans, who say that Democrats are trying to shield themselves from the appearance of endorsing the Senate measure.

"The majority plans to force the toxic Senate bill through the House under some controversial trick," said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R., Ohio). "There is no way to hide from this vote. It will be the biggest vote that most members ever cast."

...

"Process is interesting," Hoyer told reporters at his weekly press availability. "But in the final analysis, what is interesting to the American people is what is in this bill for them."

Hoyer added: "I don't think any American--real American--is going to make a distinction."

Many House Democrats dislike several provisions in the Senate legislation that are aimed at particular states and senators, such as special aid to Nebraska to help for the low-income Medicaid program. The Nebraska provision, derided by Republicans as "the Cornhusker kickback," came after Sen. Ben Nelson (D., Neb.) voiced concern about low reimbursement levels for Medicaid.

Hoyer said Americans were "rightfully angry" with the Nebraska provision.

Right Nancy. So THAT is why A: you have not held a vot on the bill, B: Threatened Reconcliation and C: failing that, threatened the “Slaughter rule”, and STILL HAVE NOT DEEMED THE THING PASSED.

No doubt donks are doing fine. Most are govt workers, if they work at all, the rest are collecting freebies off the backs of us producers. But how about the real Americans?

What alarms me most is that I think she may be right.

She doesn’t have the votes now - but she will.

Along with Obama, they’ll promise just about anything (jobs, campaign money, etc.) and threaten just about anything (like being primaried) to get the 217 votes.

Pelosi is like a Botoxed Terminator. She won’t quit.

Did you catch it “”Process is interesting,” Hoyer told reporters at his weekly press availability. “But in the final analysis, what is interesting to the American people is what is in this bill for them.””

This comment alone should be reason for the arrest and jailng of Hoyer, he is telling us, right to our face, he doesn’t care what the Constitution says, what the law is.

“But in the final analysis, what is interesting to the American people is what is in this bill for them.”

Mr Hoyer, there’s a little catch (other then the constitutional one) here.

No one really knows what’s in the damned bill for them!!!

The RATS will probably just ship the bill up to King Obama and it will be the law of the land.

Apparently 48% of Americans are “unreal” ones, according to Hoyer.
