(CNN) -- Authorities in Alaska are investigating whether a wolf attack killed a 32-year-old woman whose body was found in a remote area near a small village.

It is "heavily assumed" that at least one wolf attacked and killed Candice Berner, a Pennsylvania native who moved to Alaska last year, said Megan Peters, a spokeswoman for the Alaska State Troopers.

Authorities saw a bloody trail where Berner had been dragged off a road and wolf tracks near the body.

She “may have died”? That’s usually pretty easy to tell.

What a horrible way to go. I’m surprised they haven’t come up with a way to blame Sarah Palin.

It is Palin’s fault for NOT having that wolf shot.

There are a lot of us Pennsylvanians that would have been carrying something that would have given us a little better chance. Living where I live my head's on a swivel anyway. Still wouldn't want to take two or three of these monsters on.

Wolves are terrified of humans, but they will attack a bull moose that could kill them with one well paced kick. Go figure.

Having lived in Alaska for many years, it is considered poor judgement to be out in the bush without a fire arm. Bears are in hibernation now, the primary threat; wolves are both active and hungry.

She was training for a race and could get into a meditative state when running, her father said.

Well, there's your answer. Running in a meditative state in a new area that had already had wolf problems and no weapon. Sad for her family but stupid is as stupid does.

The wolves refuse to fill out the paper work - so no documents. :)

Oh, they blamed her a long time ago for shooting wolves. Of course the PETA freaks will come forward and say that its Candace’s fault for being near the wolves in the first place, that she must have done something to provoke them

She probably thought wolves are those cute cudly creatures we see on posters and pictures. Probably had no idea they are wild feral creatures who, when hungry, take whatever nature offers.

Here’s the core fallacy in the GamePerson’s and the Game Commission’s premises:
“The agency will try to determine if the death was caused by a wolf attack, and whether it was a lone animal or a pack of wolves. If officials determine which animal was responsible, authorities will try to find it and destroy it, Peters said.”

Before I begin, the wolf snuggler named Peters is not quite like the original “Peter” in Peter and the Wolf”. This one is intellectually vacuous if not evil.

As is known to all but the socialism impaired, wolves are pack predators, AND wolves pass learned, successful, apettive behavior mechanisms to other wolves in their pack.

Therefore, Lil Peter is either incompetent or evil. I suspect he is evil, in te sense that he considers an occasional death from wolves justifiable because of the following:
1. He is not going to be one of those ripped apart alive by predators he is “managing”.
2. He sees any return to historic predator management as a threat to his job. Translates to “Gimme my check”!
3. The entire Alaskan game commission is loaded with enviro-commies, who use “endangered species”, and “critical habitat” as an excuse to socialize America.
4. #3, above therefore means said GamePersons have more than a whiff of treason about them.

I recommend the historic punishment - Draw & Quarter ‘em.

It is less than what their wolves did to that teacher.

After all, even if we disregard the treason aspect, if we are responsible for our animals and any injuries or deaths they cause, and if the wolves are government property as “Da Law” says, then, the government is responsible.

Unless, the Government Persons are Hitler’s “Ubermenschen” and the citizens are the “Untermenschen”.

In light of the above, a case can be made that Alaska has been devolved by AgencyPersons into the ‘Third Reich on Ice’.
