HELP NEEDED FOR VA LOAN FORM
myself

Posted on 03/03/2010 5:57:10 PM PST by klimeckg

Hello,

I am in the process of refinancing my home through the VA. I served in the USAR and I need DARP FORM 249-E. This form shows a chronological system of retirement points to prove my 6 years of service. I have made several attempts to retrieve this form through eVetRecs request system and today was informed that they have no such form and are sending my request to the ARMY. Can any Freepers advise me who I can contact to get this form?

Thanks!

Call the VA administration in DC. They have the forms. They are slow so do it right away. Also, I would think that most loan officers would have that. It also may be on line. We still have decent services for vets; Probably not for long. So do it right away. You also may want to compare VA with FHA. Virginia Real Estate Agent.

When you seperated, acopy of it should have been in your 201 file. You can contact the clerk at your old unit, as well. Thats were you will probably get the best help.

I thought all you needed was a DD-214? I think that is what I used when I bought my home.

If you google it, you’ll find a few already filled in forms. If all else fails just print one out and white out the info and do your own.

Isn’t it annoying that they want a form that is unavailable? So typically government, isn’t it?

I can’t wait until they’ve taken over health care, it’s going to be fun.

Thanks DooDahhhh,

VA Loan Officer said he can’t help. I’ll call them again, but I keep getting redirected. I did speak to an Army personnel who informed me that Military Personal Records Center has this form, but when I called them they redirected me. He told me they are not doing their job right. I’ll keep trying. Can my congressman help me?

No, DD-214 only shows active duty time and points. UASR and Guard needs to go a diff route. It’s a real pain.

Maybe that helps?

I was Army Guard and that’s what I used but that was a few years ago... I hope it didn’t change...

I doubt that your Congress Critter knows anything about this. Call Don Wesson at 972-740-5222 and ask him what to do. He may know ; I know he knows FHA. Where are you trying to buy and what is the price?

Try calling HRC in St. Louis first using their customer service numbers: HRC St. Louis

Since you state that you only have 6 years of reserve time, and I assume you aren't a DA civilian, you won't be automatically eligible for Army Knowledge Online (AKO) access to the Army Human Resources Command (HRC) website where you could otherwise view and print your DARP FORM 249-E.

Good luck. I know from first hand experience that HRC St. Louis can be a pain. I hope you aren’t under a severe time crunch to produce the paperwork.

And the guy you are trying to refinance with does not have the form? Unusual that he would take on the refinance if he did not have the forms to do it. I would think. I would tell him that if he cannot come up with this soon, that you will have to take your business elsewhere. One can threat , can’t they.

Do you have any deployments? If you have at least 181 days of continuous duty from a deployment you automatically qualify.
