Simple: to this sort of girl - and I would dare say they are the majority, at least until their 30s - "bad boys" provide two things:
1) Excitement. Nice guys are typically viewed as good "friend" material and nothing more. Bad boys are full of drama and excitement, until your charred corpse winds up in a dumpster.
2) A project. Girls that are attracted to this kind of guy KNOWS the guy is messed up, and they think they can "fix" him.
I've developed this theory as a result of my youth spent as a "nice guy" who seldom made it past friend status; as the extremely lucky husband of a wonderful, beautiful woman who used to be into the bad-boy thing and grew out of it; and the father of two teenage girls who witnesses the attraction first-hand and is constantly trying to teach them the perils of bad boys.
I agree completely. The comment about the poor girl was disgusting. Maybe this guy never had a sister or a mother or a girlfriend.

Whether she deserved to die or not, she made decisions that led to her death. She also texted another guy, apparently trying to get him to come over and protect her, IE, put himself in danger. When I was in junior high, I got in a fight with another kid (fist fight, no big deal) over a girl's honor. That afternoon, I was in football practice, and the girl who's "honor" I was defending and the guy I'd fought came riding by on a motorcycle. Three times.
That was a cheap lesson, but it's hard for me to feel compassion when she dated this guy for a couple of years, then tried to get another guy to jump into the mix.

A lot of people make bad choices. Some women stay with guys who physically and psychologically abuse them. Many guys are attracted to and stay with really bitchy women. Hard to figure.

The photos of her on Fox look like the over-bleached Playboy type who don’t even look like a real person but look like some sort of life-sized plastic Barbie doll.
You would have thought that breaking her nose would have been the last straw. You don’t damage the moneymaker (the face) and keep up any pretense of caring for the girl.
Likely she stayed because either she was economically bound to the guy (i.e. he set her up with everything - the pad, the car, the lifestyle, etc.) that she couldn’t cut loose or she was too emotionally needy to pull herself free of someone so violent.
You find a lot of women who work in the various nude/sex industries have daddy issues - either absent or abusive fathers. There’s a need for daddy’s love and acceptance at an early age that, if they don’t get it, leads to a lot of problems in adolescence/adulthood. And it this age of rampant “blame-the-man” divorce, far more girls go daddyless than they did even in times of war.
I tally that up to him being a “9/11 Truther” and the father being an uber-liberal leftist.

YAWN... How about the real reason she remained with this psycho was because she was afraid. Afraid if she left him, he’d set her on fire and dump her body in a dumpster?
Your assessment is completely on target. I will add a couple of other key points:
1. The “victim” is usually a rather sweet person who believes that all people are, in their hearts, good and that they want to act in honorable ways, but they just “lose it” sometimes.
2. It is nearly impossible for the victim to believe (or be convinced by others) that the abuser actually enjoys (gets a high) from abusing.
3. The abuser is a master at apologizing, flattering, asking for forgiveness and so on. They enjoy the thrill of the chase, i.e. like a fisherman, letting out the line, then snapping it back and reeling in the victim.
4. The victim just doesn’t have a healthy perspective and is constantly looking for validation that either (A) The situation is really as bad as her feelings tell her, or (B) This is just how men (or in some cases the abuser is a woman) are and SHE is weak because she can’t “take it”.
5. The victim has no perspective and hence does not have the strength of will to get out
6. The abuser (as in the case in point and as with OJ) is so evil and far gone that NOTHING the victim tries to do to escape is enough.
Excitement. It is the one thing young women want over everything else. Bad boys usually provide it in spades.
