Dead Playboy Model's Text: 'He's Trying to Kill Me'

A Playboy model whose badly burned body was found Sunday in a Miami dumpster expressed fear of her current boyfriend — even text messaging a former boyfriend, "he's trying to kill me," her stepfather told FoxNews.com.
Paula Sladewski's stepfather Richard Watkins, who lives in Michigan with Sladewski's mother, told FoxNews.com that he wasn't surprised when he found out that Sladewski's boyfriend, Kevin Klym, 34, was named a person of interest.
"They had a horrible relationship," said Watkins. "I have told them from the start that they shouldn’t be together."
Watkins said the couple, who had been together for two years, argued often. He said a month ago, Klym broke Sladewski's nose during an argument and was arrested.
Watkins, who has been talking on the phone to Sladewski's ex-boyfriend in California since she disappeared, told FoxNews.com that Sladewski, 26, would text message her ex-boyfriend that she was afraid of Klym.
"She would text him 'help me, I’m in trouble, he’s trying to kill me'," Watkins told FoxNews.com.

Poor girl. I saw a picture of her, and she was very pretty but had “victim” written all over her. I think she got into a bad world and met one of the bad guys in it, unfortunately.
I don’t know anything about her. But it seems to me that even the upscale Playboy type of “sex work” is horrible and degrading and puts you in contact with people who are really, truly bad. See the movie “Boogie Nights” for a good view of this.

Yes she is. I just can’t figure out why a beautiful girl like that would stick with a scumbag beater like him for two years, I’ll never understand it but it seems to happen a lot.

Maybe it’s me, but if someone tries to kill me, I take that as a sign that things aren’t “good”. And I sure as Hell don’t want them near me.
She wasn’t even really a Playboy model. From other stories, it looks like she participated in a public audition and some of those photos were used, but they never picked her as a Playmate or anything else.
It’s a really sad life for those women who see nude modeling as a career choice. The vast majority will never see any real money and face continuing pressure to start doing pornography and/or become prostitutes.
They end up dealing with exploitive, violent men who use them up and find more young girls to take advantage of.
