I’d say nutrients, not calories. Though everybody knows you need to consume calories if you have an active lifestyle.
I’ve heard that really all one needs is chocolate milk, rather than all the expensive supplements at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.

Long life may stem from a proper imbalance of dietary nutrients. I would think "proper imbalance" is an oxymoron.
