vanity:Name This Painting

Posted on 11/20/2009 2:49:34 PM PST by WestwardHo

This painting appears on Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Articles page. I've looked everywhere for a copy. JPFO thought they found the painting at a rummage sale, and weren't sure they still had the original. They do not sell copies. The signature is K. Henry. If anyone knows anything about the painting or artist, I would love to hear from you. http://www.jpfo.org/images02/AU6_0102%20copy.jpg

To all you snobby art officiandoes:
I love this painting. I love bold colors. I love the broad, simple strokes. I love the warm, funny expressions on the musicians faces. It represents the joy and contentment of old friendships, shared culture, and that inner harmony of old souls playing old familiar tunes.
I saved this painting to my computer over a year ago. Everytime I look at it, I smile and love it all over again.

From an art critic:

"This strikes me as a lavish, homosexual, Bareback Mountain symphony. These four men, obviously gay, are oppressed in their homophobic environment. They can only express their erotic desires for each other through their music. It's raw but Sooo SWEET!"

I'll never forget a painting I saw in a Moscow art museum.
An 1800’s portrait of a beautiful young woman. Her hands were so real, I looked for them to move! Gorgeous, stunning!
But there were rooms, and rooms of elegant portraits. I don't remember her face, and the portrait evoked no emotions other than the incredible technique and ability of the artist.
Now my Jewish ensemble, you might say, is lacking in genious, but captures all emotion. And that, to me, is genious in simplicity. Please take my comment simply in the interest of good repartee.

Hehehe. No question, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But, my explanation of the reason for there being no prints is certainly correct. My children did lots of paintings I loved dearly. Some of them I still have. But, there are not likely to be any prints available.

I’m sure you’re right, but then, consider the tons of “art” out there, worthless, inane, but reproduced infinitum...
I rest my case. Been fun!
