Like Vincent Van Gogh, the world did not appreciate or discover Eva Cassidy’s music until she died ( too young ).

Her version of SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW is one for the ages. I thought nobody could do better than Judy Garland until I heard her haunting version.

Songbird is absolutely beautiful. So tragic she passed at such a young age. A talent lost (almost) as we DO have her Songbird Album.

Been a big fan of hers for years and I have turned on a LOT of people to this amazing woman who died way too young.

Her “Fields of Gold” is wonderful.

And I can’t listen to “I know you by Heart” without tears in my eyes.

Eva Cassidy was a wonderful singer who was taken too early. "Songbird" is a great starter album - more a "Greatest Hits" collection. The Steve Hoffman mastered LP version offers the highest sonic quality.

However, her masterpiece album was "Live at Blues Alley"...and VERY HIGHLY recommended! A superb version of "Fields of Gold", "Stormy Monday" & an absolute treasure in "Tall Trees in Georgia"...and so many more!

Another wonderful version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Hawaiʻian musician Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole who also, sadly, left us in his 30s.

Eva’s “Fields of Gold” cover blows the original away. Sting who?
