Dallas Cowboys NFL Team Column By Russell Easley 2009 NFL Draft Coverage

10 November 2009

Plenty of Credit To Go Around

For those of you who haven’t heard, the Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night to take sole possession of first place in the hotly contested NFC East. The game featured plenty of penalties and challenged plays, but what it really showed was the progress this team has made since the beginning of the season. So who gets the credit for the continued improvement of this team? Well, there’s plenty to go around.

Credit QB Tony Romo for his continued solid play (21/34, 307, 1TD, 1 INT) and especially for his patience. The Eagles blitzed like crazy Sunday night and Romo took the patient route, dumping off short passes and wide receiver screens. Romo has matured enough to know that it’s better to gain a few yards that go for it all and have something bad happen under heavy pressure. His pump fake on the Austin touchdown was absolutely beastly. He has become the clear leader of this team.

How bout’ them Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T.O. was a cancer on this team. It’s amazing how good Romo is when he doesn’t have to force the ball to a selfish jackass. I hope T.O. is enjoying freezing his cojones off in Buffalo.

Good grief. Just two weeks ago, people were calling for Romo’s head.

Fair-weather fans drive me nuts.

Go Cowboys!!!!!

Cleveland Browns take a lesson. They suck however let Brady Quinn play and develop.
Let him get his share of failures so he can learn how to succeed like Romo. Play Quinn and stick it out since the Brownies aint going to the playoffs anytime soon.

Don’t be counting your chickens. This is Novembers, the Cowboys’ best month in recent history. If they start winning in December or better yet in January then you can start talking about the great turn around.

No worries. I was just commenting in general about the negative comments compared to positive ones. The change in the media is pathetic. One minute, they bash. Next minute they praise. One bad game, and they’ll go back to bashing.

Romo has a Choice and raises his voice.

The scrip has been Witten and its Miles to Austin.

Opponents are a Ware of sacks in the air.

There’s a Newman in town and the Sensabaugh says

He’s Hurd of the Folk on Special Teams too.

Cowboys carry the Ball and get a kick outta Buehler!

The “Me First” attitude of this team left when they got rid of T.O., Pacman Jones, and Tank Johnson. They have done nothing but improve. Even their 2 losses came in the last seconds of the games. So they were only a few seconds away from being 8-0 this season. This is the first time in over a decade I’ve seen the Cowboys play as a TEAM with some HEART on all three cylinders. Hopefully they keep it up.

Yeah, how bout them Cowboys. Only one of two NFL teams to ever make a boycott list (Life Decisions Intl) for giving $ to Planned Parenthood, the nation's leading abortion industry dismemberers.

Way to go, Jones...killin' off the next generation of potential Cowboy fans...one limb at a time!

All I know is having Marion Barber and the tight-end Whitten on my fantasy team has KILLED my chances this year. They suck!

Don’t worry, assuming they make it that far, Pony Romo et all will be pasted by the Steelers. Yea, doesn’t help the Eagles, but keeps it in Pa.

No playoff victories in a decade.
The Pack will be back next Sunday to bury them.

ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd—love him or not!—correctly points out that the Cowboys have one big problem: a too-meddling owner. We hope that “Jerra” Jones doesn’t interfere with the coaching staff after Thanksgiving so the Cowboys will play better during the playoffs if they reach that far.
