Really makes you feel small doesn’t it?
On clear nights we can see the Milkey way from where I live in western Jersey. Just a few miles to the east, there is so much light pollution, you can hardly see stars.
I remember camping in north western Quebec in the 60’s when I was a young man, I was amazed at how clear it could be seen. I also saw the Northern Lights during the same trip.
I had the sensation for the first time of being on on a starship.
