A golden?
We had one. She was the most lovable dog ever, but man could she shed !! The vacuum bag contents would be mostly from Ginger.
Sounds like common sense to me. Outside is where the dirt is.
This explains where scabs go if you don’t pick ‘em
I read things like this and it makes me wonder. What, beyond navel gazing, would the scientists who perform these studies be doing if not this “essential” work? LOL.
Dirt and dust are not the same.
Dust has fibers, hair, food crumbs, dead skin, paper dust from computer printers, lint, etc, etc.
Never try to kill a dust bunny. They MULTIPLY if you do!
Yes. She is a hair machine. I am looking into a better vacuum. Really what I need is another pet that just eats dog hair....
You’d never view the inside of your house the same if you looked at some of this ‘dust’ under an (SEM) scanning electron microscope.
We bought the Dyson model made for pet hairs (a male Golden who could fill up the filter on the air conditioner in 2 days). Expensive, but a great machine.
While I don’t think the govt should be funding this stuff, there is nothing wrong with science for science sake. Sometimes useful info comes of it. But, again, I don’t think the govt should be funding much science.
Autumn, I know when we moved from West TX to East TX we had far less dust in the house. So, clearly the dirt from outside had an effect.
We have looked at the Dyson. Did you get the one with the ball or the 17? Someone else suggested a meile (I may have misspelled that). So, now I’m confused. But most of my golden friends rave about the Dyson.
And all this time I thought it was ghost turds.
Sears had the 17 on sale, I think it was a previous model. Maybe I’ll check Best Buy too.
By the way, re the little Yellow Lab I'm looking at, all the grand-dogs' OFAs are Good, sire's OFA is Good, and since sire is EIC clear the worst this pup could be would be a carrier. I paid for the testing 'cause I'm not sure I want a dog that isn't clear.
And we'll still have to decide on a name. Ya got any ideas yet? They are calling her Kate, and I don't really oppose that because then I would have a Shelley, a Ruby, and a Katy, all names that are easy to distinguish for the dogs. Sire is Jackson's Green Timber Woody and dam is Pearly Girl Decker. She's going to be little, at 8 months she's 50 pounds. She's very pale yellow, almost cream, with darker yellow ears and "angel wings" (the white markings on the shoulders), and extremely dark nose leather. Even her belly is black!
She's very calm, very intelligent and a fast learner. She picked up "heel" and "sit" from me just in an hour or so's training (off lead, with treats and a clicker), as well as learning that I wanted her to take a straight line to the retrieve rather than bank running. And she already has a BIG water entry. Doesn't deliver to hand yet (I hardly expected that) but she brings the bumper back fairly close, drops it, and then comes to me cringing a little - anxious to please but not sure how to do it.
I think this one is going to be pretty good. Now if she'll just figure out her place in the pecking order quickly . . . .
I *guarantee* you can get it cheaper than Orvis! The only time I buy anything from them is at their warehouse sale, where overruns and returns are 50-70% off. Then they're down at a reasonable level. Mostly. Their dog beds are STILL not cheap even at 50% off. But they're good.
A friend has the Miele and she said they were comparable in price to the Dyson (which means not cheap!) But it’s a cannister and has bags. What to do, what to do!
What is the Kennel name you will have to use, and I guess there is no litter theme?
