San Francisco Expands illegal immigrants sanctuary--politics behind the decision

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors took the first step yesterday to prohibit the reporting youths accused of drug crimes to Federal immigration authorities. The measure, will pass next week, will be vetoed by Mayor Newsom, and be overridden by the Board, is packed with intriguing politics.

First, from my debate on PBS’s KQED-FM, with the supervisor who has led the fight for the measure, Supervisor David Campos, I believe he is sincere in his concern for the “children”. as he calls them. He himself was an illegal entrant at the age of 14, and went on to earn a law degree from Harvard University Law School.

Supervisor Campos is under tremendous pressure to pass the measure. His main legal argument is that the measure is about due process and equality under the law. But the Feds also respect due process. A prominent judicial officer, very familiar with the Federal reporting requirements, told me that he knows of no youth arrested for one of the 15 stipulated drug crimes who has ever been deported before or after his arrest, unless convicted. The Feds have bigger, more notorious illegal entrants to target ---try members of the brutal M-13 gang operating throughout the U.S. and on San Francisco streets.

In contrast to SF...what US citizens think:

Survey shows strong support for immigration raids

[snip]Just under two-thirds of Americans want see more raids on businesses who hire illegal immigrants and to see those illegal workers arrested.

A national survey conducted earlier this month by Rasmussen Reports found that 64 percent support police conducting surprise raids on businesses suspected of hiring illegal immigrants, along with the subsequent arrests of undocumented workers. Nineteen percent oppose the raids.

Another 71 percent in the Rasmussen survey want to see the bosses who hire illegal immigrants arrested, with only 15 percent opposed.

The survey results come in the midst of the nasty political fight between the Obama administration and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio over the MCSO’s immigration sweeps.

Wow, thank heavens there's absolutely no overlap between drug-dealing illegal alien teens, and MS-13 membership. None at all!!

Going after kids who get mixed up in drug crimes isn’t politically popular and won’t reduce the dynamic that drives illegal immigration - individuals seeking employment. a vigorously enforced everify campaign is the best tool to stop illegal immigration and poses the least human cost.

Because he was given preferences undoubtedly. The guy comes off as a parrot, just like his other one-note buddies: Let us come in! Let us have everything you got!

On another charming note, this is what one of his goombahs did in Santa Cruz just the other day: Just another murder in Paradise.

The 'gang member' is a "latino" (something that they didn't admit until near the end of the original article in the Santa Cruz paper) and is a graduate of Harbor High in Santa Cruz.

Great, huh? If it had been the other way around (it never is) the White kid would have been charged with a 'hate crime' and it would be all over the MSM.

But this is just a 'regrettable incident' and 'everyone should just move on'....

“...... a vigorously enforced .....”

LOL

This government? They can’t even keep track of the visas they issue and get the 4 to 5 million visa overstays out of this country.
