Game 3 of Rox-Phils NLDS postponed (snow/record low temps)

With the series between the Rockies and Phillies tied at a game apiece, Game 3 has been rescheduled for Sunday at 8:07 p.m. MT. Game 4 has been moved to Monday, with game time to be announced prior to the start of Sunday's contest.

Snow began falling Friday night in the Denver metro area as the temperature dropped to 17 degrees in the Mile High City overnight, breaking the record low of 25 for the date, set in 1905. Coors Field was blanketed in snow by Saturday morning, and the white stuff was expected to keep coming down into the day, predicted to dissipate by the 7:37 p.m. game time. Since Coors Field is the only field in the Majors with an underground heating system, the snow might have been cleared away.

The cold is another matter, though.

Al Gore is a baseball fan? That’s the only explanation for the weather.

I guess it’s more evidence of “global warming”.

Would have been interesting to see bundled up fans, etc. in a sign of “global warming”. “We see Pedro Martinez blowing on his hands to keep warm; the umpires have said that’s okay due to the cold temperatures”. Anyone have an idea on the coldest it’s ever been during an MLB game?

The first Toronto Blue Jays game ever, held at the old
Exhibition Stadium, had some snow falling...

I would say the pitchers are going to have a hard time loosening their arms in that temperature!

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
So since we’ve no place to go...

Don't you understand that when it is winter up here it is summer down there so if it is colder up here it Must! be hotter down there and because we use 25% of the worlds resources it being hotter down there out weights it being colder up there.

And Colorado (that's the team) sucks causing low pressure to build up dropping the temperatures. This is what makes blue state so blue, they are cold.

I have better stop trying to think use words like a lefty it is hurting my head.

More Cash For Clunkers is needed to get CO2 up! Except this time the money can only be used to buy behemoth Expeditions, Suburbans, Yukons and Excursions. No more econoboxes!

Shorter season, fewer games? The owners and players wouldn’t stand for it (well maybe if they got same amount of money somehow they would but some teams really need those 162 games, even if they don’t make playoffs, to make $$)

We have to pass a cap and trade bill to keep it from getting colder or is it hotter? Oh well, at lest we’ll have a new tax to try and stop all of these delayed games.

Just another reason why baseball sucks compared to football. In football, we call this great game weather! More reasons: http://m.youtube.com/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dom_yq4L3M_I&v=om_yq4L3M_I
