I think it shows, at least preliminarily, that the movie “gets it” and is in keeping with the original.....a satire on modern politics.

My favorite exchange of dialogue, from the original:

Col. Andy Tanner: ...The Russians need to take us in one piece, and that's why they're here. That's why they won't use nukes anymore; and we won't either, not on our own soil. The whole damn thing's pretty conventional now. Who knows? Maybe next week will be swords.
Darryl Bates: What started it?
Col. Andy Tanner: I don't know. Two toughest kids on the block, I guess. Sooner or later, they're gonna fight.
Jed Eckert: That simple, is it?
Col. Andy Tanner: Or maybe somebody just forget what it was like.
Jed Eckert: ...Well, who *is* on our side?
Col. Andy Tanner: Six hundred million screaming Chinamen.
Darryl Bates: Last I heard, there were a billion screaming Chinamen.
Col. Andy Tanner: There *were*.

Film crews for the ‘Red Dawn’ remake were in downtown Detroit yesterday, filming an explosion scene.
Authorities estimate the explosion caused ten million dollars worth of improvements.

LOL! Talk about Urban renewal.
Hey, they could saved themselves a lot of money by just using Obamalama posters
Hmm, on second though those might be too Left wing to be credible.

They’re filming ‘What’s Wrong with Virginia’ a few houses down from mine. No star sightings yet.

a satire on modern politics.

A satire would imply some form of humor... in the form of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding a situation.

It could very well be we will be lucky if the movie comes out before hard reality takes the lead...

Obama snitch website

DHS report on "right-wing extremists"

etc, etc.

Could an explosion possibly make Detroit look any worse? Would anyone actually notice?

I hope this one is more on the nose regarding gun control.

Are you crazy? The original was written and directed by John Milius, a sitting member on the board of NRA. That movie drove the antis Nucking FUTS!

Remember the scene where the bumper sticker said "You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers" and it showed a soviet boot stepping on a dead wrist to pry loose the gun?

Or the scene where the Cuban advisor told the flunkie to go to the gun stores and find the form 4473 for lists of private gun ownership records? What more do you want or where do you find the original lacking?

That last picture reminds me of a Visitor’s center ( from V the miniseries on NBC back in the 80’s)

"If an explosion goes off in a city, and no one lives there, did it really happen?"

They should have waited until around Halloween. Then they would have gotten pyrotechnics for free as long as they were shooting film in the right area.

The Chicoms start the movie. The Russians don’t arrive until later (After December), when they link up with the Chinese units in the West ( the Russians come from the north and east). The Latin American commies are also involved, but Spokane is too far north to see those guys.
