Wimpy foreign policy never saved anyone's day

Barack Obama seems anxious to follow in the footsteps of the last century's most well-known appeasers, Chamberlain and Carter. And if our president were even half as smart as his billing has claimed, then he would know -- merely judging from these two -- that appeasers never win and their wimpy foreign policy never saved anyone's day. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Yeah but Obama is sooo much smarter than those guys in the past, when gloriuos leaders such as Kim Jong Ill and Ahmadinejad see how brillant Obama is and see how sorry he is for all the past evil American actions of the last 8 years, they will surely be nice and do whatever it takes to work with Obama to make the world a peaceful place

i have been reading about the start of ww2. chamberlein was wrong but he really gets a bad rap. the british were not prepared for war in 1938 and certainly didn’t have the capacity to help poland. when france was about to fall, some british cabinet members were still talking a peace arrangement with hitler. also appeasement in the 1930s did not mean the same thing it does today.
(ex. the term concentration camp was coined during the boer war to “concentrate” boers so the british didn’t need as many guards. today concentration camp is equated with nazi death camps. if i said the british had concentration camps most folks would think nazi death camps and draw the wrong conclusions.
carter and zero have no excuse. they have history to learn from and they haven’t learned. carter is a failed president (and even worse ex-president) and zero is on the road to a failed presidency; 9 months of back to back to back failures, foreign and domestic.
