Take Peter Singer, author of "Animal Liberation." This publication has been the inspiration for PETA; featured in the movie "Legally Blonde" and is the animal rights bible to which animal rights activists turn for guidance the same way Christians reference the actual bible. Beyond rights for animals (see if you catch the irony here) Singer believes that abortion should be available for any reason, up to and beyond birth. That's right - if you eat a hamburger, he'll call you a murder, but if you kill a baby he'll say you're doing the right thing. He believes that killing a disabled baby leads to a world with greater happiness, so therefore is not only desirable, it's the moral thing to do.
But is that enough? Not for Singer. He views killing a day old infant is no different than killing a slug; he even advocates killing babies with 28 days of birth. Only after 28 days does a baby have any right to life.
I heard Beck say that this guy supports it up to two years, I've heard others as well.
What's the final verdict on this? What/where has Singer wrote about this, or is all of this just misinformation?
It is possible. It has been practiced since the second generation on earth. It has long been called MURDER.
Abortion is murder as well. The only difference is the geography of the victim.
Peter Singer should be treated as a defective human, according to his own pronouncements.
Even California still categorized the murder you are describing as infanticide.
Of course, I have tended more and more to describe both as "the Sin of Molech," or child sacrifice, since too many people have no clue what I mean either way.
South Park was a visonary on this issue, as was Pope Paul the 6th. I cannot believe I am using these 2 in the same sentence, but I guess this is one of those issues that makes strange bedfellows...........I will stop eating animal flesh when they stop killing babies.......
Molech is the god of pete segar. He is one sick creepy excuse for a human being.
Not misinformation. Singer is one sick, twisted dude.
Sociopaths like Peter Singer have no place among civilized people, and need to be expelled from the borders of this nation - or at least placed in an insane asylum.
Once this guy snaps and starts offing people napping on the subway (”They weren’t self-aware, so they weren’t actually people at the moment.”) and pleads insanity because he didn’t know right from wrong, then we’ll finally address the Peter Singer problem.
So, would Peter Singer object if I were to put a gun to his forehead and pull the trigger? After all, I would just be acting as he proposes, right?
Sure, if it leads to “greater happiness for the many”, even Singer would have to go quietly into that good night or else abandon his position.
