No. Providence is beautiful now. Waterplace Park in the middle of the city is surrounded by some of the best restaurants anywhere. Within walking distance is Federal Hill with even more fabulous restaurants. The breads and pastries at the little Italian bakeries are second rate to none. During the summer and into the early fall the little outdoor cafes are filled with people sipping wine or expresso. I miss Providence.
I miss Providence, too. I dropped by to campaign for Laffey for Senate and they sent me to Mount Pleasant High for the day. (palm cards and sign waving)
Well, good! We moved from Rhode Island in 1978, and I haven’t been there since. There are a number of cities that have really improved in that time.
