Here is video of a skydiver who fell 10,000 feet onto a metal roof that helped break his fall. The skydiver's main parachute didn't fully open and when he tried to use his reserve parachute it came untangled. He survived with "bruises, nerve damage, and a dislocated neck." (Watch Video)

The video sux. It just shows a couple seconds of chute, ground getting closer.

I want to see the guy hit the roof.

(He survived, so it isn’t ghoulish)

Seriously: there was a case (during WW2 I think it was) where a man fell from many thousands of feet with NO parachute. He crashed through a glass roof, and survived.

Could’ve been most any J-school. The curriculum is so loaded with diversity, transgender, racial, and class sensitivity training, as well as Cloward-Piven and Alinsky propaganda techniques, that there just ain’t enuf time left over to learn ‘em to spel and rite good.

The terminal velocity of a falling human being with arms and legs outstretched is about 120 miles per hour (192 km per hour) - the resistance of the air rushing by slows him down. A free-fall from 30,000 feet or one from 10,000 Feet would result in the same termional velocity of approx 120 mph.

IIRC, he was the tail gunner on a bomber and there wasn't room enough in the turret for both him and a parachute. It was stowed forward, through a tunnel like access. He chose to jump and die from the fall rather than go down with a flaming aircraft. Tough choice, but as it turns out his time wasn't up.

I remember reading the story in Reader's Digest when I was kid, probably in the mid 1950’s.

Someone else survived - can’t remember when ...

Winter time, chute never opened, fell into 30-foot snow drift between the trees in a forest ... bumps, bruises, and scrapes only !!!

I read something similar years ago. The dropee in question was a British bomber crewman whose chute didn't fully deploy. He crashed thru the limbs of a fir tree and landed in a snowbank during winter. He survived albeit with some broken bones.
