Surfing Near-Miss

An amazing pic captured just off OB shows two surfers getting oh, too close.

Local photographer David Poller was enjoying a Monday in Ocean Beach, taking pictures of people enjoying the coast. At one point, he was focusing on a man surfing and realized the surfer was getting a little too close to another. He leaned on his shutter and captured the near-miss happening right before his eyes.

"Neither of the guys were injured and no one got aggro afterwards," Poller writes. "I think they were more surprised than anything else."

You can see the before and after pics and read along about what happened the moment this picture was captured in Poller's full blog post.

Happens all the time. I misspent a large portion of my youth out in the surf at Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, etc., and I saw this plenty of times.

Good photo, though.

The best part of being a non-surfer at the beach is seeing them get into fights.

Betting is moot; the Tongans/Samoans always win.
