Smelly theme park guests told to keep their arms down ("say no to B.O.").

Smelly guests and warm weather have forced UK Theme park Thorpe Park to introduce a new rule called "say no to B.O.". The rule has been put in place because too many smelly guests were stinking up their rides on the hottest days.

Any time the temperature reaches 25C (77F) and above, guests must keep their arms down on the rides at all times. Personally, I think that telling guests to take a shower and use deodorant may have been a better (smelling) solution, but obviously not everyone practices basic hygiene.

This is the second time in two weeks that a UK theme park has introduced silly rules - previously, Alton Towers banned Speedos from their premises "to protect the children".

So, what do you think of this new rule? Ever been stuck behind a screaming rollercoaster rider who spread their stinky pit stench to the rear of the ride?

Can't wait to see their logo!

And there's this, from the article:

This is the second time in two weeks that a UK theme park has introduced silly rules - previously, Alton Towers banned Speedos from their premises "to protect the children".
They're risking Barney Frank's outrage on this one.

If people are so offended by BO then they should take their own precautions ...... where's personal responsibility?

You got to be kidding me. I have never been around a bunch of Brits or Frenchies where the smell of B.O. didn't overpower me. Here in the US I can smell a Lymie in a room full of people; if the smell is bothering the Brits, its got to be offensive. During the winter I can also smell lymies easily, they smell like wet sheep.

FYI..I held a dual citizenship until 1974 with Britain and the US...I know of what I speak.

This from the country which wants to make non-Muslim women wear full-body clothing into pools.

It’s a stupid rule; coasters are outside, you are moving 50+ miles an hour, any smell should be dispersed for all but the most sensitive noses or smelliest people.

And those smelliest people will smell regardless of whether their arms or up or down, their entire clothing will stink of sweat.

Oh, believe me, there are some very smelly people at theme parks. Water rides help some, but then you get people taking off their shoes and socks — and THAT is a stink you won’t soon forget.

A number of years ago I was one of those smelly tourist. London had an unexpected heat wave, I had not brought any cool (or washable) clothes, nothing was air conditioned, my deodrant failed under the pressure. It was truly awful and the Brits smelled worse than I did.

Lame, lame, lame. Especially when you consider that most people on a coaster are going to be sitting next to their companion, not some stranger.

That Walmart Bingo is hilarious! I just called a friend and told her about it. She played a similar game with her grandchildren recently but they went to an upscale mall. Next summer she said they would go to Walmart. LOL!
