Yes, it could have been some were for 40 years by a few people's knowledge considering the significance of this historical event.....

But ? no.... consider it's government issued .... when government get's it's hands on anything, anything is bound to get messed up.

Think the article says the main tapes were in Australia, but somehow they ended up in a closet or something for 40 years.

NASA goes to precise details for the moon landing, hundreds of engineers and years of preparation, millions of dollars spent....and somehow they don’t give instructions to Australia on what to do with the tapes??

No, I just don’t buy it.
