That he’s not actually funny. 95% of his audience are people that heard he’s brilliant and figure if you don’t love him you must be dumb. The other 5% are people who don’t actually have a sense of humor but think they do.

I’m not sure I agree with all of the items on the list, and I certainly don’t agree with his politics, but Allen is without a doubt one of the funniest comedians, writers, and directors ever.

I’m surprised that anyone’s paid that much attention to Allen in the last twenty years. I liked Bananas, Play It Again Sam, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, Sleeper and Annie Hall, but after that, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. None of the films has aged particularly well, either.

And this is supposed to be a bad thing? This happens to be one reason I like Allen's movies. I abhor violence in movies and TV.

I must admit that inserting the Greek chorus (esp. F. Murray Abraham) into the story in _Mighty Aphrodite_ was a stroke of genius.

Sleeper is one of the funniest movies ever made and the future nanny state he predicts with “bread and circuses” to placate the sheeple, corrupt govt, and fake food makes me think he was predicting the present administration.
