You can always get these things for free on the net... :-)

True, but you can never reclaim the time lost. It is true that it is good to know the enemy -- but I think we know enough about Mr. Moore to understand that viewing any of his material is just time ill spent...

Hah! Yes, that’s also a good reason...

I have mixed feelings about our medical system. I hate the thought of socializing medicine, knowing that government intervention is usually disastrous. But, to think that hardworking American citizens are unable to get the healthcare they need because they are not “poor” enough is terrible.

Most, if not all fast food restaurants these days even offer health insurance. I believe small businesses is where much problems are. If the government just did something for small businesses, and nothing else, it would be FAR better than setting loose a chain reaction that would lead to the destruction of the entire system, which is being proposed right now.

Here’s my take on Moore and recent events:

George Tiller was killed, and the media immediately condemned the pro-life movement for ever daring to decscribe hims as what he was: a professional killer of children. These characterizations, they claimed, led directly to his murder. USA Today even called out Operation Rescue specifically and blamed them for Tiller’s demise.

Yet...Michael Moore has made numerous allegations that this country is involved in terrorism, oppression and intentional murder of civilians in Iraq and has long held the position that the insurgents are “freedom fighters,” but when a Muslim who also believed those things gunned down two of our soldiers, neither Moore or any other “peace” activist (Cindy Sheehan, I’m looking in your direction) had a microphone shoved in their face or any blame affixed to them.

As for health care, on his show TV Nation back in the Nineties, Moore had a “contest” between the U.S., Canadian and Cuban systems. The treatment each would provide to a man with a broken leg was examined and the cost compared. Of course, the Canadian system won. Never mind that if the guy had needed a hip replacement instead of a leg cast he would have waited in pain for six months...And yeah, Mikey, the Canadian system is so awesome that no Canadian ever comes to the U.S. for treatment, right?
