Quarterback Michael Vick's time with the Atlanta Falcons is officially over.
Vick, who is serving the remainder of his prison sentence on dogfighting charges under house arrest in Virginia, has been released.
"We feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club," Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement. "Our entire organization sincerely hopes that Michael will continue to focus his efforts making positive changes in his life and we wish him well in that regard."

When the Falcons traded Schaub to the Texans, the first thing I said was, "They got rid of the wrong guy"..

I agree. Sometimes it seems like the Falcons and the Braves are run by the same people...trading away the wrong people

I would think the Oakland Raiders would love to have a guy like this, if the Oakland Raiders exist anymore (teams switching all the time can’t keep track).

The fact that the NFL would even allow Vick to play demonstrates how far their standards have fallen.

Can I buy a Ron Mexico jersey now?
Of course, why would I want to? But if I did, could I?

Michael Vick should be the poster child for sheer stupidity and his gangsta’ mentality he exhibited at every opportunity. Only a complete dumba$$ would blow a $135,000,000 contract to bet a grand or two on dogs, kill his losing dogs in a really cruel manner, then lie about it when he gets caught. He should change his name to Michael Ick, as that seems more appropriate to me.

Big deal. He’s a felon. The NFL can have their own rules. He served[is serving] his time.

Vick is a PIG for dog fights and Tiller is a hero for slaughtering babies....yeah, that makes sense! We’re doomed.

Tiller slaughtered babies? Where’d you get your info—Daily Kos, Huffington, DU....?

Dogs were his property on his property. He can do whatever he wanted with them.

Oops--I'm thinking of Jeff Tillman, not Tiller the Killer.
