It is the cycle of nature. Cats kill birds. It’s OK.

I saw a cat stalk a Mockingbird in an open vacant lot when I was about 20. The cat SLOWLY crawled up to about 8 feet from the Mockingbird, and note that the bird had his back to the cat. Suddenly, the cat made his move!

And the Mockingbird wore that cat out. Pecked that cat all over the butt until the cat ran under a porch to keep from getting tormented anymore. Geez, it was funny!

Housecats are not a native species.

Feral housecats should not be encouraged, and the coyotes should be allowed to eat them as much as possible; it is the cycle of nature. Coyotes kill cats. It is OK.

No, it's not OK. The constant inflow of new cats dumped from cities and towns creates an imbalance the birds can't win. Seldom does a week go by that I don't see another cat, or litter of half grown kittens, dumped by the road. This is much worse than just a few cats breeding in the wild.

We have 6 indoor cats, all adopted from the roadside. It's all we can handle. There are 4 in the yard at this time, I'll shoot them as soon as I get a clear shot, but it isn't something I enjoy.

Birds have posted lookouts! Cats Beware!

Psst. Are they packin'?

Way back, my father spent a summer at the cottage killing feral cats as all the song birds were disappearing...Once caught a neighbors cat and released it...but the song birds were coming back by the end of summer...
