MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins are renaming their home Landshark Stadium as part of a partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett. The name change from Dolphin Stadium is the fifth since the stadium opened in 1987. Buffett's Margaritaville enterprise includes Landshark Lager, brewed by Anheuser-Busch. Buffett and new Dolphins owner Stephen Ross are friends. They plan to unveil a new logo for the stadium at a private event Friday, where Buffett will perform a song inspired by the Dolphins. The stadium, which has lacked a corporate sponsor for several years, will be the site of the Super Bowl for the fifth time in February. It's the home for the Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes and Florida Marlins.

Saw Landshark Stadium and thought it was about Warren Buffet.

LOL

That’s the first thing that came to my mind as well. As a Jet fan the prospect of the Dolphins calling their home Landshark Stadium is hilarious.

These teams are desperate for money, how else do you explain naming your stadium after a very crappy beer. If this doesn’t work the next time they can call it “Warm Piss Stadium”.

Buffett already wrote a song about the Dolphins, it is called Why Don’t We Get Drunk and Screw.

As a Dolphin fan the prospect of the Dolphins calling their home Landshark Stadium is hilarious. Should have remained Joe Robbie.

Oh, I almost forgot, the Dolphins will kick the Jet's a$$ twice this coming year. The scores won't be close. Especially the game in the Meadowlands.

Pretty arrogant to tell a team we are going to eat your lunch in your house, isn't it?

I think it’s kind of cool. Buffett is classic Florida, and it beats “Metamucil Stadium.”

I actually used to hate the Dolphins with a passion. But I can’t say that now since Chad Pennington, one of my favorite Jets ever, is down there. Now I only hate them twice a year.

I still hate the Jets. Many years ago there was a restaurant called, "Lums," about two blocks from the Orange Bowl. The Jets fans would gather there before the game. It was fun picking them up and throwing them out a window. The brawls always made the Herald.

To quote a famous talk show host, "more fun than a human being should be allowed to have."

Buffet is a libtard slime and Obama lover. He played free benefits for Obama. He is very wealthy.

He’s another liberal Democrat who loves money. He should be audited.

I think it’s very cool. It’s not a bad beer, either — a bit light for my tastes, but definitely drinkable.

I like Jimmy's music, but he's a leftie. Campaigned for Dem Sen Nelson. He tries to tell everyone else to be eco-friendly while he flies planes around the world for concerts and political campaigns. IMO, JB is more about marketing than music these days: tequila, beer, restaraunts, merchandise, etc.

Joe Robbie was just fine - leave it alone. But as someone else said, these teams need money.

I thought I was the only FReeper that ever ate at “Lums”!

I dumped the Dolphins back in 2001. The rivalry just ain’t the same without Marino or Kelly or O’Brien or Bledsoe, etc. The Dolphins were just managed awfully, nothing personal against Huizenga, he is a conservative.
