GULFPORT Harrison County sheriffs investigators went to Austin, Texas, on Friday to interview the couple wanted in the capital murder of a man found dead in a rural Gulfport hotel.
Austin police arrested David Lee Obermiller, 21, and Bethany Nicole Goodenough, 20, Thursday night after finding them asleep on a sidewalk at or near the University of Texas campus, said Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara. Its against the law in Austin to sleep in a public place, the sheriff said.
The couple are accused in the robbery and slaying of Thomas Tommy Corbin, a Vancleave man found dead at the Crystal Inn on Sunday morning.
Corbin was 51. His cause of death has not been released.
We believe he picked them up while they were hitchhiking, said Sheriffs Maj. Ron Pullen.
From video surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts, we have them in the room together and we have them leaving in his pickup.

Probably are members in good standing of ACORN, too.
Funny...they don’t look like the type of people to do such a thing.

(I don’t know why I’ve got stereotyping on the brain today) ;o)
These scumbags picked the wrong place to bed down in. The UT campus area is a hotbed for all kinds of criminal activity and as such is frequently patrolled by both city and state police.
Yikes! I certainly wouldn’t pick those two up on the road. They look like trouble going somewhere to happen!
Wow! A couple of Meth freaks! They should have just headed to San FranFreeko, Kalifornia no one would have even thought they were strange!
DON'T FORGET TOMORROW IS MOTHER'S DAY...
Obermiller and Goodenough...
Hmmm... nice. wonder when they had them changed and if they are legal names.
Wonder if they came from Miller and Gooden.
And thank you for moving here.
Toby
My pleasure...I love it here...
