Tucson police say an officer fatally shot a suicidal woman after she pointed a gun at police.
Tucson police spokesman Officer Chuck Rydzak said Sunday that officers went to the woman's home Saturday night after she sent a text message to family members telling them goodbye.
Officers heard loud music coming from 57-year-old Joanna Lee Smith's house when they arrived. Smith refused to open her door and told officers to "just go away."

big men.......
Huh????
Suicide by cop...I feel for the cops.
She got what she wanted....and the cop may have saved others from her.
THAT will teac her to try and commit suicide!!!
I wouldn’t buy one of those new.
Wait a while, you’ll find them at estate sales.
“used only once”
Same thing happened in my town about a month ago. A 20-year-old woman led police on a car chase, taunting them by calling dispatch. When finally cornered, she jumped out of her car with a pellet gun and pointed it at them. Three officers fired simultaneously hitting her in the elbow, chest and buttocks.
Miraculously she survived. I know one of the cops and told him he could use a little more range time.
Suicide by cop. Move along, nothing to see here.
i know you were kinda kidding when you said that to him, but it's kind of a silly argument, imho.
