Dozens of people have died and hundreds of others have been infected in a viral outbreak in Mexico suspected to have been caused by a strain of swine flu. The World Health Organization thinks the virus may be behind 60 deaths in Mexico since mid-March. Mexican authorities have closed schools in affected areas and a vaccination campaign is being launched. Seven non-fatal cases of a new form of swine flu have also been confirmed in the southern United States.

The 1918 flu pandemic was swine flu.
This could be very, very bad.
Where in Mexico? It will soon be here.
Here we go...
Mexico City, mainly, as far as I know. Did you see this thread?

Do you have any idea how many Mexicans die daily from dystentary, cholera, and TB???? The place is a petri dish with some very unusal organisms growing there!
It gets really bad when pigs and ducks are raised together, the ducks and pigs pass things back and forth, humans of course do not contract any Duck bugs, but Pigs do, and sometimes the viruses that they get from the ducks get mutated and can be passed to humans.
Thats where we get the most horrible flu’s
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am just getting over a really horrible one, that included liquids coming out both ends, and my entire family had it all at once, absolutely HORRIBLE. It was like having your entire digestive system just peeled. AWFUL. I hope this flu from Mexico does NOT spread.
Wash your hands, and every surface you touch in your house. Awe heck, disinfect the grocery store baskets while at it. I so do NOT want to get sick again at that level.
Think I’ll go out to dinner tonight and sit at a table bused by illegals.

Historical Review: Megadrought And Megadeath In 16th Century Mexico (Hemorrhagic Fever)
"The epidemic of cocoliztli from 1545 to 1548 killed an estimated 5 million to 15 million people, or up to 80% of the native population of Mexico (Figure 1). In absolute and relative terms the 1545 epidemic was one of the worst demographic catastrophes in human history, approaching even the Black Death of bubonic plague, which killed approximately 25 million in western Europe from 1347 to 1351 or about 50% of the regional population."
"The cocoliztli epidemic from 1576 to 1578 cocoliztli epidemic killed an additional 2 to 2.5 million people, or about 50% of the remaining native population."
