There is nothing else they could be.
Either they are fully human, or they are hybrid human/angel; there are no other choices. This universe was created for the express purpose of raising God’s elect here on Earth, and when that purpose is complete, it will be destroyed. Peter made that fact very plain.

I do believe that this boot-camp planet is unique in all Creation. imho, There’s nothing in Scripture to even strongly hint that it’s the only habitable etc. world or even intended to be the only such.
Who are the Children of Israel and the joint heirs of Christ going to rule and reign over?
I don’t think God Almighty had in mind that they would rule & be kings and princes over cockroaches as subjects.
