Download ccleaner, it wont fix it, just make it faster. Do that first if you need to save data...

Top right corner of this page I linked below is a green arrow....download newest version and trust it ! It works good !

When ya install it make sure ya un check the yahoo tool bar .......

Close your browsers, make sure any passwords are saved as it’ll kill yer cookies .

As stated trust it to clean yer puter ! hit the lower right hand corner button and let it run. First time will be longer than normal due yer plugged up system !

I makes it all better !

Seeing as it is a 4 year old computer, I assume you are using XP. Now it is unclear what your problem is. If it is that you can not do a system restore, follow this procedure. Of course this only works ( and any system restore only works ) if you previously set a restore point.

1. Restart your computer, and then press and hold F8 during the initial startup to start your computer in safe mode with a Command prompt.

2. Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode with a Command prompt option.

3. If you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the appropriate operating system for your computer, and then press ENTER.

4. Log on as an administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials.

5. At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER.

6. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to a functional state.

You do know that if you have turned off system restore, every restore from there back is deleted, right? As well, if you used the Windows “Cleanup” tool, you will have deleted all but the last restore point.

That said, I have to ask if your C:\System Volume Information folder has anything in it. It’s a hidden folder, but you can select to show hidden systems files and folders. If you need help to do so, post back. If you can see it, then right click on it and select “Properties”, then look at the “Size”. It should contain x number of gigabytes (GB), at the very least, it the number should be larger than 0.

I will wait till 1:30 ET for a response. After which I charge double time. :O)
