Michael Vick is in the home stretch of his prison sentence, getting ready to head to home confinement and then hopefully return to the NFL so he can earn some cash to pay off creditors as part of his bankruptcy plan.
But if the U.S. Department of Labor's complaint has any validity, Vick is dumber than we thought. Yes, he's even dumber than a person who would flush tens of millions of dollars worth of NFL salaries and endorsement deals down the toilet to operate an illegal dog-fighting ring.
CNBC reports that "The U.S. Department of Labor filed complaints Wednesday accusing suspended NFL star Michael Vick of illegally spending about $1.3 million in pension plan funds for his own benefit, including paying restitution ordered in his dog-fighting conspiracy case."
The Labor Department accuses Vick of illegally transferring money out of the pension plan for MV7, his marketing company that covered nine current and former employees.
"This action sends a message that the Labor Department will not tolerate the misuse of plan money and will take whatever steps necessary to recover the assets owed to eligible workers," Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis said in a prepared statement. Wow. Brutalizing innocent animals and now looting pensions. Vick appears to be establishing himself as the intellectual love child of Cruella DeVille and Larry the Liquidator, and that probably won't bode well for his efforts to be reinstated into the NFL -- his only real hope of turning his life around.

Husband was thumbing through the channels and we watched about two minutes of a documentary that showed the rehabilitation of Vick’s fighting dogs that were rescued...we couldn’t watch any longer than that. Those dogs were SO messed up!

Not to get all ‘churchy’ on ya, but I truly believe that He made us ‘stewards’ of His Earth...all the beasts of the field ARE our responsibility to use for our good and not for Evil.
Vick screwed up and screwed up badly. He has only ONE to answer to, IMHO...no matter how much I’ll b*tch about it. :)
