LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The longtime companion of Anna Nicole Smith and two psychiatrists were charged on Thursday with conspiring to furnish drugs to the former Playboy playmate in the years before her 2007 death from a prescription medication overdose.
Howard Stern, an attorney, and doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were each charged with a single count of conspiracy, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said. Other charges were filed for unlawfully prescribing opiates and other controlled substances.
California Attorney General Jerry Brown said the trio furnished thousands of prescription pills to Smith, "often for no legitimate medical purpose."
"There is ample evidence that Doctor Eroshevich and Doctor Kapoor violated their ethical obligations as physicians, while Mr. Stern funneled highly addictive drugs to Ms. Smith," Brown said.............."

Sorry, but I don’t see anything here that indicates Howard K. Stern and his Dr. Feelgood will be up on murder/wrongful death charges any time soon.
All they’re being charged with is illegally supplying her with drugs. Not killing her.
I should have qualified it better. I did not expect anyone to
be charged with anything RE Anna Nicole.
Hopefully that will be enough to permanently revoke their professional licenses.
I was around them (Vicki, her son, Howard K Stern) prior to the shenanigans that culminated in the death of the first two, and I can with absolute certainty say they were all stoned during the time (6+ hours) I was around them. Pretty pathetic group of people I thought, but it makes for a good story.

And who is it that wanted all those drugs, and asked these people to prescribe and funnel them to her? Hmmmm? Anna Nicole Smith was her own murderer. Her chosen lifestyle did her in, Howard was her flunky and pawn. The shrinks were guilty though of prescribing drugs they knew she didn’t need other than to dope herself up on. However, Anna was her own worst enemy.
I do hope that was the case at the end of her life - because it sure seemed like she was so out of it that they should have known she wasn’t making rational decisions - or any decisions possibly - they just kept pumping her full of more drugs - maybe to use her so they could make $$ or live some sort of lifestyle or something. It might have started out that she was in charge - but at the end it seemed really messed up.
Good Grief!!! It’s hard to believe that it has been TWO YEARS since many of us obsessed FReepers began marathon threads on this mystery.
During that time we lost a dear FReeper; Rte66, who did exhaustive research on the twists and turns in this case. The most troubling aspect was the loss, not just of Anna, but the death of her 21 year-old son in the hospital room where Anna had just given birth to her daughter. Followed by the disgraceful betrayal & villification of Anna’s mother Virgie by Larry Birkhead; his joining forces with Howard Stern and confiscation of Virgie’s granddaughter for fame & fortune. (How did that work out Larry?)

Those were the dayz though of armchair detectives and guesses from Lacy Peterson to Anna Nicole.
It sure cured me from being an internet mystery/murder hound.
