Accountability for Porkulus votes?

Posted on 02/15/2009 4:41:40 PM PST by KJC1

Aside from the passage of the Porkulus bill which is bad enough, I am steamed that "representatives" who make votes on our "behalf" did not even read the full text of what they voted for...and even admitted it.

In the real world, if you do not read what you are signing it is never good. Why should there be an exception when it affects the entire country?

What other bills have they or will they not read?

You can bet your a$$ that these individuals read PERSONAL contracts before signing, like when they buy a home or a car, or enter into any other kind of personal contract.

Does anyone here have a job where you can sign off on things you haven't read without a pile of you know what coming down (rightfully) on your head? Whether you order supplies or services for a business, work in the legal field, are a teacher, doctor, mechanic, whatever?

The bottom line question, for those more knowledgeable than I, is failing to read a bill while casting a vote for that bill a "breach of trust" that could be actionable? And I mean besides just trying to vote these individuals out?

At the link you’ll see a list of elected officials from congress who were up for re-election this last novemeber that voted in favor of the bank bailout and which ones lost their seats and which ones retained it.

It’s a sad testament to societies voting habits and it clearly shows that we only have ourselves to blame.

I had an odd dream last night.

I died, but many survived.

WHY WASN'T IT AT LEAST FILIBUSTERED?!

61 votes in favor of cloture (ending debate)...three RINOs jumped sides to end debate. no filibuster possible.
