Famously Secular France Now Finances Mosques

The Republic neither recognizes, nor salaries, nor subsidizes any religion." So says the 1905 French law on the separation of church and state. Yet nowadays officials do everything in their power to promote the construction of mosques — even providing sweetheart land deals that push the bounds of legality.

A report finds that 30% of the funding for mosques in France can be traced to public coffers. While one Muslim leader credits "divine will," the real driver is politics:

The mayors involved sometimes want more control but also to win votes in tight elections. With the explosion of land prices, granting municipal land proves decisive. The emphyteutic lease has become the principal tool of mayors, even if the courts sometimes punish rents which are too low, seen as explicit financing of religion. This was the case in Marseille and Montreuil.

Since then the system has become more refined. Mayors use the additional cultural activities of the mosque, sometimes a simple tearoom, in order to give subsidies.

An emphyteutic lease is a long-term contract that requires the lessee to improve the property. French cities have been using the mechanism to transfer land to Muslim groups for rates as low as one euro per year, thus provoking outrage. A lawsuit challenging the Marseille agreement ended with the rent being upped to €24,000. The Montreuil lease was struck down in 2007, but an appeals court overturned the decision, contending that the symbolic amount is not a subsidy because the grounds and mosque will revert to government control in 2107. Yes, 2107.

Ironically, the 1905 statute — which applies to all of France except Alsace-Lorraine — is used to argue for public support of mosques. That law ended the funding of faith groups and made their buildings the property of the state,

This makes no sense to me. Where are the secular humanists?
Where are the great French intellectuals?

The death of Europa, not with a band but a wimper. I urge everyone to see Europe. It is still the worlds largest open-air museum, layered with centuries of history. On a recent trip to Spain on the train to Al Hambra I noticed the recently exposed remains of a human skull on the side of the hillside, from the crusades, no doubt.

Europe wil still be there, but the gothic cathedrals will be mosques. In London, don’t expect to see reserved men in bowlers and 3 button suits, that was 30 years ago. Do try the Curry, England’s national food, and please tip your taxi driver, who is probabaly from Pakistan. Mohammed is the most common boy’s name, which replaced Jack a few years ago. In southern Europe the situation is a little bit better, as Spain and Italy still remember the moors as the savages they were, but demographics tell the future:

Just as the USA is the next Brazil, Europe is Eurabia.

The meek will not inherit the Earth, It is the savages who were prodigeous and the politically correct enablers unable to fight for their survival who will inherit the Earth. When this occurs, I give the world until the first scheduled oil change until the whole global economy tanks and the world eneteres a new dark age.

Come now. Your global outlook is dark, tinged with apocalyptic references to the impending collapse of western civilization, and points an accusatory finger at Islam. I agree completely.

Its happening right here in the USA as well. John Kerry and Boston politicians helped the ISB (Islamic Society of Boston) obtain a low cost sale of land to build its "mosque and cultural center". Even though the ISB is closely associated with: Yusuf Abdullah al-Qaradawi, the Egyptian Islamist whose outspoken backing for Hamas led the Department of State to bar him from entering the United States in 1999.

Abdurahman Alamoudi, the American Islamist recently arrested on terrorism-related charges who in the past has publicly supported Hamas, Hizbullah, and other terrorist organizations.

And some of leadership at the mosque includes:

Osama M. Kandil, the Islamic Society of Boston's leader for over a decade is also associated with the notorious Safa group of Saudi businesses and "charities" headquartered outside Washington, D.C. and was a founding director of the Muslim Arab Youth Association, one of the most radical Islamist organizations in the United States.

Back in October 2003, as part of a series that explored alleged ISB connections with Islamic extremism, the Boston Herald reported on an article that Dr. Walid Fitaihi, a member of the mosques board of trustees had written for the London-based Arabic-language daily al-Hayat shortly after 9/11. According to a translation from the pro-Israel Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Fitaihi’s item contained an abundance of incendiary material. In the words of then–Herald reporter Jonathan Wells, Fitaihi “attacked the ‘Zionist lobby’ in America, claiming it has ‘incurred Allah’s wrath’ and would eventually lose the support of the American people.”
