PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Mayor Sam Adams, who has admitted lying about a sexual relationship with a teenager, said Sunday that he would not resign. A city commissioner, Randy Leonard, told The Associated Press that Mr. Adams had left a phone message in the morning saying he had decided to remain in office. Two other commissioners told The Oregonian of Portland that Mr. Adams, the city’s first openly gay mayor, had told them the same thing. The fourth, Amanda Fritz, declined to comment. Efforts to reach Mr. Adams were unsuccessful. The Oregonian’s editorial page has called for his resignation, as have three smaller Portland newspapers and the police union. Mr. Adams is being investigated by the Oregon attorney general. The case has divided the city, including its gay and lesbian community, although Mr. Adams has found strong support to remain, including a rally Friday on his behalf at City Hall that drew more than 400 people. Mr. Adams, who was elected in November, met separately with the four commissioners on Saturday to discuss his political future. Last week, Mr. Adams publicly apologized for lying about the sexual relationship he had with an 18-year-old man in 2005. The man, Beau Breedlove, has said he did not have sex with the mayor until he was 18, even though they met when Mr. Breedlove was 17. Mr. Breedlove, now 21, told The Oregonian on Saturday he had kissed Mr. Adams twice when he was 17 and welcomed the romantic interest. The statements contradicted Mr. Adams’s claim that he had told Mr. Breedlove he was not interested in a relationship at the time..........

Before this Sam Adam’s lie and scandal broke, Adams stated that “the homophobic stereotype is that gays cannot be trusted around young people.” Sure enough, their relationship started when the male teenager was 17 with kissing. The age of consent in Oregon is 18 (if they had sex before he was 18, but both claim sex didn’t begin until after the kid was 18). I’m having a hard time believing that part of the story..... Adams admitted to having the kid lie about it.
Child sex abuse is not a problem in Portland. He may run for Gov now.

Sam Adams lied about the gay affair during his campaign and instructed the teen to lie as well. He has been in office approximately one month. Now they are both admitting to the gay affair and, for the teen, it’s borderline 17 years of age and 18 years of age (questions....). They claim to not have had gay sex until after the kid was 18.
Yeah...sure...if someone actually believes that, I got 1500 acres of prime beach front property just outside Tucson that can bid on....twice a day, 6-8 ft breakers come in as the tide changes.
Actually in Oregon, age of consent is 18, but they started this gay relationship while the teen was 17.

Apparently the good mayor was caught in an innocent round of felching and rimming this kid in a public restroom and in Portland this is merely a sexual preference. Going to the site I have noticed a number of other deviants that consider this act a non-issue. When does Portland join the civilized world and jail the sicko?

Yeah sure- they only kissed in the men’s bathroom when the kid was just 17. They both admit to sex just after his 18th birthday (but not before then). That, for me, is very hard to believe especially since Adams admits to lying already.
