Those were the days! And O'Reilly now coaches for the Rangers.

Peter MacNabb was getting kicked by a fan, so MacNabb took the shoe off the fan and beat him with it!

Ice Hockey at its finest! And back then, I was a Vancouver Canuck fan: the greatest brawlingest bunch of thugs and miscreants that ever laced up skates and pretended to play Ice Hockey!

yeah they were! I was a huge fan of the bruins from Orr’s start, the Espo trade and the ‘70 and ‘72 cups up to about ‘80 or so. lived within range of the Canuck broadcasts then.

Number Four Bobby Orr was a hero even in Vancouver. We all tried to copy his slapshot, as kids.

My favorite Terry O’Reilly moment was when he actually punched a referee. Too funny. It was a close, hard fought game (a play-off game, if I remember correctly) and the ref made a really questionable call on O’Reilly. O’Reilly, frustrated at the call, turned around and decked the ref. I believe the ref was Andy Von Hellemond. He had a habit of trying to determine the outcome of important games.

I guess I’m a little older than you. I grew up wanting to be Bobby Orr. Boston still worships the man. I know I do. But, Terry O’Reilly holds a very special place in the Bostonian heart as well.

Went to my first game at the Garden in 1970. I loved that dump. Favorite players were Orr, Derek Sanderson, O'Reilly, and Ace Bailey, who died aboard United 175 on September 11.

I'm 44. Guess I got that wrong, eh? LOL I loved Sanderson as well. Johnny Bucyk, Brad Park, Jerry "Cheesey" Cheevers and, of course, Phil Esposito. My father never forgave the Bruins for trading him. LOL
I still fondly remember the old bumper sticker: "Jesus Saves: But Esposito Puts in the Rebound." IMHO, the greatest bumpersticker of all time.
Lots and lots of good memories.

Here is another good one from the 70s with the Habs fighting the Boston fans and the police.

Best game I have ever seen in person: January, 1988, Montreal @ Boston. Boston wins 2-1 in OT. First period had over 100 penalty minutes. Bruins D Gord Kluzak climbed over the penalty box glass and dove into the other box to continue fighting Chris Chelios.
Best $20 ticket I ever bought.

Canadiens won 3-2 tonight over the Penguins, great game. CBC Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, the best.
