at Easter a number of years back you could walk into a “dime” store and purchase, brightly colored live chicks,
that I believe was what led to the banning of not only selling the chicks but also of the dying, something about blinding the animals.

I believe that to be the law in New Zealand. That, and cropping tails and ears: “IXNAY!” says the Nanny State.
