Your suggestion would be a bit difficult since evidently they didn't allow themselves to be alone together.
I know two couples that had similar convictions to these folks, both have been married for several years now, and they have great marriages.
Why it might seem extreme to some, if that's what these folks have committed to...more power to them.
I agree more power to them. But you also have to question that if these same people are so determined not to kiss, they will also be determined to keep a marriage going even if they are miserable in it. Not saying all are miserable but the same logic applies.
