no. if I so much as sensed bitchiness in a woman while dating, it was the last date.
there is only room for one to bitchy in my relationships and it has to be me.
fortunately, my wife understands! :-)
Not at all. Women, if you want to brow-beat a weak-willed male into proposing, be a b####. But dont be shocked when you hate eacb other in 5 years, he cheats on you, and he treats you like cr@p in a passive-aggressive (wimp’s route) kind of way...
...are not ipso facto "bitches".
Think Sarah Palin vs. Hillary Clinton.
Good post, informative and well said...
One thing that hasn't changed is that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
Any man worth a d@mn won't put up with that crap, no matter how pretty, skilled, or rich a woman might be.
Ten for looks, 1 for attitude, averages out to a 1.
OTOH, I have known many women who were relatively plain in appearance, who were animated by their personality, intelligence, or sense of humor (or all of those) to appear to the knowing as absolutely beautiful.
YMMV.
Actually, I have read parts of the book...the title is a “hook” since the major premise IS confidence. She makes some good points that men do not want super needy women. In fact, she defines “bitch” as a woman who is confident and not running after the man. In many ways, she echoes a book by some guy called, “He’s just not that into you”...which says that when women make excuses for why men don’t call, commit, etc...it’s because he’s just not that interested.
“In my case, it was to get closer to her sister.”
Man I miss my ex’s twin sisters, but at least we have this song.

I have never had any relationship with bitches that lasted longer than a nanosecord. Why bother when there are plenty of women available who can make your life better and happier with out the nastiness?
Now I am assuming that a bitch is more than just a woman who wants her way and lets it be known.
With manners and bearing, we used to refer to that as being a "Lady".
My mother is a Lady, and if you called her a "bitch" she'd knock you on your arse.
Get a clue, willya? Quit calling yourselves "bitches"--AKA female dogs, if you want respect.
bttt
Sadly, some men in the world, mostly Democrat voters, will think that any woman who doesn't act like a prostitute for free is a "bitch". Just like they think anyone who disagrees with them on foreign policy is "dumb".
Perhaps, but I'd make two points:
First, sometimes a certain amount of shock value is necessary in modern marketing, since the competition among such self-help or relationship-help books is so very intense. It's quite easy for a valid, valuable book to get lost in the insipid crowd. What, really, could you suggest that would be a better or more compelling title? Why Men Marry Calm Logical Quietly Assertive Girls? Why Men Marry Girls Who Stand Up for Themselves? These don't really have that cash-register ring to them.
You also have to figure that these days "bitch" does not have the connotation it used to. It's just not as harsh a word as it once was.
“In fact, she defines bitch as a woman who is confident and not running after the man.”
Ah yes... a woman who can’t simply say what she means, but have to twist words around. Another crappy trait that some women pick up.
I beg your pardon. I do not refer to myself as a “bitch,” and I don’t expect you to do so either.
This title is a marketing device, okay? I didn’t think it up, so don’t blame me. It does refer to the mysterious fact that all nice girls have noticed: a lot, a great lot, of men seem to be attracted to women who treat them badly and are not attracted to the nice girls. We are always wondering why men do fall in love with and marry women who can best be described as bitches, or worse. The idea of the book is that the nice girl can take a leaf from the book of the nasty woman who has men worshipping her; the nice girl can learn how to stand up for herself and get the respect of men without being cruel, hateful, or bitchy. It’s not a bad idea.
I suppose some guys are up for it? I would guess a small selection.
I would not be interested in even dating such a woman.

B*tches can be occasionally exciting . . . particularly when out on the town after a month on an isolated job etc.
However, no sane man I know of wants to
1. sleep with one
2. wake up to one
3. ride in a car with one
4. go out to eat with one
5. rear kids with one
6. go shopping with one
7. grow older than a few minutes with one
8. be known as her dog, her dilldo or her whatever
9. be driven to drink by one
10. be driven to bankruptcy by one
11. be driven to homicidal &/or suicidal insanity by one
12. be controlled by one [!!!!CONTROL!!!! FREQUE-ISM AND
B*TCHINESS SEEM TO BE CONNECTED AT THE MOUTH, in women, OR THE BRAIN OR SOME SUCH]
13. be p*ssy-whipped by one
14. snuggle with one
15. bored stiff with one’s incessant self-pitying whining, wailing and angry rantings
16. be Bobbitized by one
17. be talked about all over town by one
18. have offspring with one—offspring that will undoubtedly carry on the b*tchy traditions and rants the rest of the poor bloke’s natural life
19. cared for in helpless old age by one
20. endure countless meals with one
21. kowtow and grovel to one in order to barely exist in his own home
#############
Lots of men want a woman who has spunk; confidence; gentleness; kindness; attractiveness; responsibility; caring; tenderness; warmth; assertiveness—to a point; initiative; can-do attitude; cooperativeness; problem-solving abilities vs helplessness; etc.
19.
After reading just the headline and not reading any of the posts, I already know where this is going.
It’s not about an author trying to sell books. We already know it’s almost impossible to make a living as a writer.
This is about a controversal title to make millions appearing on talk shows.
I’ll bet “The View” already has a date for her appearance.
***OTOH, I have known many women who were relatively plain in appearance, who were animated by their personality, intelligence, or sense of humor (or all of those) to appear to the knowing as absolutely beautiful.***
That’s what I prefer. Those are often the golden ones.
