If I owned a dog of any breed that was a danger to the public you wouldn’t have to take it away from me, I’d dispose of it myself. The problem is others in this society that don’t have the sense or the courage to address or acknowledge their own problems themselves. And this doesn’t pertain just to dogs.......

Now you're talking sense- but why not apply this sense to the "Pit Bull" problem?

Outlawing Pit Bulls will only cause another "dangerous breed" to emerge and take its place. We have a "people problem" not a Pit Bull one.

I have so many encounters with a Pit Bull that it has me convinced of their dominance traits and the results of this “nature’ they have. I really don’t have hardly any calls with other breeds like I do this one.Other than that I have no personal desire to see the breed done harm.

TN has an animal running at large law and no one pays a whole lot of attention to it. I have complainants call me to address their neighbors dog running loose and yet their’s is running loose in the neighborhood as well. I always get a change of heart when I tell them that I will have Animal Control come to the neighborhood and take all of the dogs at large. You just have to tell them that it may be a few days or a week or so before they can get here. Usually they change their mind and ask me to just speak to the other owner.

Many owners don’t take care of their animals or contain them to provide a safe environment for the animal or the public.
