No, it’s not power. It’s the “aggression”, or if you will, the terrier tenacity and relentlessness. PBTs tend to keep at it. That is the #1 problem with them; they don’t let up and let it go.
I have so many encounters with a Pit Bull that it has me convinced of their dominance traits and the results of this “nature’ they have. I really don’t have hardly any calls with other breeds like I do this one.Other than that I have no personal desire to see the breed done harm.
TN has an animal running at large law and no one pays a whole lot of attention to it. I have complainants call me to address their neighbors dog running loose and yet their’s is running loose in the neighborhood as well. I always get a change of heart when I tell them that I will have Animal Control come to the neighborhood and take all of the dogs at large. You just have to tell them that it may be a few days or a week or so before they can get here. Usually they change their mind and ask me to just speak to the other owner.
Many owners don’t take care of their animals or contain them to provide a safe environment for the animal or the public.
But the fact remains that genetics is very, very important. It’s not simply “raising” and “training”. Not every dog that is fearful or aggressive was “abused”. Such modern pass-the-buck slanderous thinking is hogwash, and a total denial that breeding has anything to do with it. Character and temperament are every bit as transmittable as hair length and color.
Ever hear of liberty and freedom, you ban-happy authoritarian statist?
“Liberty and freedom” to what—stop people from defending their loved ones from your pit bulls? If you bring a pit bull into a neighborhood, the neighbors’ right to put it down will be respected sooner or later, as enough people are fed-up with the menacing choices of trashy cowards.
Americans—even kids and old folks—have a right to go for walks right by your place without being threatened or bothered in any way. Docile breeds barking are not a problem. Vicious breeds growling or barking at passers-by are a problem.
People also have the right to public discussion without troublemakers disturbing their peace. But our society is so chicken**** from generations of childish hippies in judicial and administrative leadership, that such laws are not enforced or in statutes. Hardhats should not be bothered by law enforcement for smacking mouthy crud.
I won’t put up with wrongfully bred dogs that so much as threaten under any circumstance, bad dog owners who exhibit any aggressions from drug/alcohol dementia, bad dog owners who get mouthy, bad dog owners who steal...any of that in my neighborhood.
McGrath is a liar. Does he believe the otther guy bit his own dog?
