My neighbor called me the other day. She wanted to hear the sound we recorded of what we feel is a cougar. She said her windows were open the other night and at about 4 a.m. she heard a sound that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.

Lived in Cottonwood 20 years! I sure do miss the Verde Valley. But our son lives in Cornville. I’d better mention this post to him - he has goats.

You guys can ridicule Sedona all you want - I live here - and mountain lions, bob cats, coyotes, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, scorpions do too.

A mountain lion suns himself in the mountains just a half mile from my home. A bobcat broke into a neighbors home (through a screen) and was captured by Animal Control - found to have rabies. The javelina are rampant - looking for food, and they aren’t happy campers.

Look up mountain lion facts on google. You will find over two million posts. http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/mountain-lion.html

Do not ridicule Sedona. We do the best we can to live with the environment. (And, sometimes, it ain’t easy.)

I get pissed. $500 bucks if I walk off the trail, but deer run rampant destroying the delicate desert soil. Pumas can roam at will but I cant....

Bullocks

I don’t either, my - but the rewards here are much more abundant than the negatives. (Maybe you would like to visit Montana or Wyoming?)

"Pumas can roam at will but I cant" Yes you can - there are thousands of trails here in this area where you can hike and take in the breathtaking beauty that nature has provided.......and sure - you have to follow the rules - but give me one state where you don't. (And, I'll buy you a beer).

Of course. No incense, pyramids or fortune tellers. LOL

Personally, I have lived here for 16+ years, and have never been to a psychic or fortune teller. But, I sure do love the beauty of the red rocks and the incredible colors of fall. IMHO - there is not a more beautiful place in this world to live.

It is pretty. but the neighbors! the hippy nieghbors

When I lived in AZ a 4 yr old came running in...”mommy mommy”

There was a cougar in the tree in the backyard in tucson proper.

Oh the critters dont bug me, but the people that think that cat has rights over that kid bug me big time.

Sorry you took offense yorkie. I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting Sedona but know it through O’Keefe’s paintings and her life story.

My favorite place in the world to be in April is the desert southwest. You are fortunate to live among such grandeur. ;D

Dittos what Daffynition just wrote. No one on this thread is ridiculing the magnificent scenery and setting of Sedona. I, in fact, envy you. It's the pervasive New Age cultists of the place that our fight is with.

My opinion is that we need MORE people like in Sedona. Then, perhaps, we could turn the prevailing mindset around.

Best wishes to you in God's country.
