She didn’t support Obama.
She only said she’d be glad to now get behind him to help the country.
Elizabeth campaigned with Palin.

How is it “stunning” that someone would support the President Of The United States? Just because the Bush haters were deranged barking moonbats for 8 years?
To: Perdogg
It might surprise the liberals who trashed Bush for eight years, and questioned the legitimacy of his election, but there are some people out there who respect the outcome of elections and will be supportive of the new president as he takes office. I suspect that Elizabeth is one of those people. She’s still conservative and will speak out on issues as she sees fit, but, she understands that the people have spoken and the election campaign is over.
Whereas some of the liberal/radical types out there never ever gave Bush any respect for actually having been elected.
To: Perdogg
She wished him well. Just a case of jouranlist twisting of words.
Shocking. I’ve never seen that before.

In order to accept Obama one must first overlook all the ACORN FRAUD and illegal campaign contributions that bought the election for Obama, the illegitimate president.

In the entertainment industry their will be a lot of public conversions to the dark side, as they know all to well their careers would end if they allowed even a hint of conservativeness to show. They don't have the luxury we have of working for the Conservative cause in the shadows.

Bull.
Evidently, the view of the dyspeptic brigade here on FR is that we are to remain sour, hateful, bitter gripers.
I hate it as bad as anyone that Obama won...., but he won, and we need to support him when we can, and resist him when we should.
I will speak out against raising taxes, income redistributionism, regulatory burdens, PC idiocy, suppression of speech, and loss of freedoms....., (sigh) and yes, I know they are coming. You don’t need to feel compelled to breathlessly announce “well, you will GET them, buddy!” I know that.

we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

Hassleback is a stooge MSM plant......To be put on a show to make the GOP look stupid and silly. A person who cannot intellectually defend our positions......and in all reality is she isn't even a conservative nor solid Republican.
Her attacks (or go along attacks with the rest of her VIEW program) on Limbaugh were pathetic.....as if she has even 1/100th of the intellect of Rush....
Over and over again the MSM plant stooge types to "be the Republican"...Hasselback is no different...

I think Elizabeth is just saying, okay, the election is over. We should always support our President, just as we had expected the libs to support Bush.
Having said that, I have no desire nor intention of supporting Obama. (Unless, of course, he should surprise me by actually proposing something good. But that is very unlikely.)

Hasselbeck said her daughter Grace, 3, had asked her who won and who lost the election. "No one lost," Hasselbeck said she told her child. "Seriously, today is a victory for this country."
That is not a bad response to give to a three year old. Besides, elections are something Americans should celebrate, even when they dont go your way.
Hasselbeck said the massive voter turnout and the excitement of the presidential contest inspired her. "I will get in a long line of supporters
for this president," she said.
On her first point, I believe she is mistaken and the turnout was not massive. As to supporting the president, there is nothing wrong with that. The same applies to Scott Ott who wrote of his support for the President. These statements of support are made in good faith, but are not unconditional. I hope President Obama will show himself deserving of continued support. However should he err, we should let him know.
I know people are disappointed by the election results. I am very disappointed by the incredible risk that this country has taken in voting for a man who is inexperienced and about whom we know so little. But it has been done. There is no time for aimless rancor. Such demonstrations merely tarnish our image. Lets work on our principles and our ability to communicate them.
I believe in conservatism, both social and economic. Our candidates must be good conservatives - both as social conservatives and as economic conservatives. Im opposed to modern (not classical) liberalism. The better we can articulate our views, the better our chances in future elections.

Elizabeth is an AMERICAN. Obama was elected President of the United States of America. Like it or not, he's OUR President. I am going to give him a chance, hoping that he won't be able to implement many of his plans.
Unlike the dems, who did what they could to slander President Bush, and did everything they could to sabotage his policies, hoping to see him, and the United States fail, I simply won't do it.
I'm going to work to make things better in the US, fighting his policies, but not trying to take down the country just to see him fail.

"Hasselbeck said her daughter Grace, 3, had asked her who won and who lost the election. 'No one lost,' Hasselbeck said she told her child. 'Seriously, today is a victory for this country.'" This is "Supporting Barack Obama"?
a). McCain lost. There's little point in acting the way Democrats did after Gore lost - are people going to start claiming that Obama stole the election? (yep, they already are)
b). (This will go down badly with many freepers) The election of a black President is a victory for this country, in and of itself. Now, I would rather he be conservative, or at the least pro-life, but just whittling it down to one variable, having a black President after 43 white ones (when roughly 10% of the population has been black for much of American history) is a step forward, and a step forward that FAR too many here on FR do not seem to either fully grasp and understand or refuse to recognize.
