you VIRTUALLY INSURE a TYPE II ERROR.

Only if space monsters are visiting Earth.

Even as a shrink, I have a hard time explaining that behavior. However, I remain quite curious about it.

I spent a lot of time as a kid reading space monster books. As an adult, I found that the people reporting the incidents were either insane or liars. That made me upset. I soon learned that space monster logic could be applied to most other complex conspiracy theories. I mean, nutbag conspiracies are the spice of life until you realize that the conspiracy was bunk and it really was a lone kook who fired the shot. The removal of that spice made part of life taste pretty dull. And that made me angry at the people who lied about space monsters. I blamed them for removing the parmesan and oregano from my proverbial cheese pizza of life.

And thus, I became mysterio, slayer of conspiracies, with an insatiable thirst for revenge on those plaid shirted 70s hunters who would lie about space monsters and ruin Tuesday nights on the History Channel.

Hope you have a good Sunday night.

Uhhhh . . . the

Type I VS Type II error stuff is more or less regardless of particulars.

On average . . . WHEN one leans tooooooo far away from one, the AUTOMATIC RESULT IS virtually insuring the other kind of error.

Sure there are exceptions . . . however, on average, that turns out to be the case.

Sounds like your response to the . . . realities . . . whatever those ‘OBJECTIVELY’ are . . . was based as much on emotion [disappointment etc. that whatever didn’t match whatever criteria, standard you’d decided was essential] as on the evidence.

The result seems to be now, that short of a UFO in your lap castrating you, there’s no evidence you’d fairly consider. That’s leaning way over the cliff of the Grand Canyon begging for a TYPE II error.

Seems kind of silly and sad, from my perspective. And all the more so given the stuff coming out of the woodwork . . . UK and French files released . . . Old timers going on record the closer they get to graduating from this life . . . etc. None of that will be equal to a UFO in your lap castrating you—by fiat—by definition—by arbitrary TYPE II ERROR BEGGING decision.

A LOT of that is high quality evidence quite sufficient—quality-wise, normally, to convict murders and sentence them to execution. But noooooooooooooooo, You’d rather BEG for a TYPE II ERROR than be disappointed . . . than what . . . feel foolish? ever again.

Very sad, to me.

I hope there’s no other area in your life—no relationships where similar vengeance, bitterness or whatever has such an influence in your attitudes and behaviors.
