or, it could be a calculated effort to deflect criticism from him with regard to some major disclosure that is about to break. I have no knowledge about any such disclosure whatsoever, but having to break off campaigning to attend to a sick (grand)mother might tend to subdue any harsh criticism that a damaging disclosure might invite. Hey, it might even cause the ones in the know to hold off releasing the info, thus buying time for Obama’s thugs to circumvent the announcement of the (hypothesized)information.

Whatever the reason, I hope McCain and Palin express appropriate sympathy and continue campaigning as before. At a minimum, the ad campaign should continue undiminished in its intensity.

Why should McCain and Palin even consider suspending their campaign at all? I'm sure that Biden will still be out there.

Some words of sympathy toward Obama would be appropriate.
